Kick Butts Day 2008 - Glen Meadow Students at Kick Butts Day, Lounseberry Hollow School

Kick Butts Day 2008

Nine students from Glen Meadow Middle School in Vernon provided information to the students at Lounsberry Hollow Middle School on the dangers of tobacco use and how tobacco companies target youth on April 2nd in recognition of the national "Kick Butts Day".

The program was presented during the four lunch periods to approximately 800 students.

The Center for Prevention and Counseling's Community Action for Tobacco Truth worked with the students from Mrs. Kennerson's class to prepare and present the program to the fifth and sixth graders. Guidance counselors Petrina Garrity and Ron Nichols joined Shari Kennerson and Shelley Stuart from the Center for Prevention and Counseling to provide technical assistance to the students. Kick Butts Day is a day of youth activism which was started by the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids in 1996.
